It depends which part your are talking about.
The small part (~4x4 inches) that has the hood release lever and the hook (striker) is called the hood latch.
The large metal piece that goes across the entire front of your car that the radiator, headlights, hood prop, etc is called the radiator support (or core support like chris said).
