Default cruise control help

When you turn on the cc on the button on the dash the button lights up the cc on/off light in the cluster comes on but when you use the buttons on the steering wheel to set/accelerate/coast it doesnt work
Im thinking clockspring as the horn buttons also do not work.
Question is, is there anything else i should check first?

There is an electrical connector for the clock spring that you may want to inspect.

While pressing the horn switch, try to set the cruise control. Let us know what you find.

Could be, have you tested it? You can test the ring or test for the proper "input" to the control unit (LT GRN/RED wire).

Where should i be testing at? i pulled the shroud around the colum and tested at the small black plug with 3 wires( lt green/red, lt green/blk, and blue/red) only have power to the blue/red.

Also tested at the plug at the blue box above the fuse panel (interior drivers side) and got nothing there as well on the lt green/red

Do you have the manual for this, check the Common DIY Threads post at the top of this section for where to get it.

LT GRN/RED should have battery power at the control unit when the "set button" is pressed....if not, IMHO do not assume the slip/clock spring just yet.....I'd test the switch next.
