CV Axle Replacement
#2
Most folks don't drain transaxle and don't have leakage. I've never had a problem w/ leakage.
Note, on installation and removal be sure to support the inside CV jt and pull straight out as you remove (after popping spring clip loose). This avoids loading the axle shaft seal and possibly causing a leak.
I have a 36mm axle socket (1/2" drive) that I've used on all mine. Air impact usually works nicely to remove. A 1-7/16" socket should work fine also.
good luck
