D4 light on, no start
I'm going to upload a video. But I turned the crank and it turned. It looks like the timing belt is on. Can it be a problem with spark? I checked the spark plugs and they seem fine. There's a clear grease on the tops of them. Maybe the distributor?
That sound means that your engine has little compression. This may be a dumb quesiton, but were the spark plugs installed when you were cranking the engine? Does your engine have oil in it?
It is good that your timing belt is intact. The next step is to check the engine timing. On the cam sprocket, there are two notches/lines on two of the sprocket teeth that you will turn the crank to lineup. See video below on just his description. Since your timing belt is already on, your crank pulley is already installed. The crank pulley (not shown in the video below) has some notches on the edge towards the timing belt cover. There will be a group of 3 and one by iteself. The notch by itself is TDC for the crankshaft. The timing belt cover has a v-notch sticking out. When the cam on top of the engine is at TDC, the crank below should be at TDC.
There is no need to remove the timing belt or anything right now. This is just to see if the timing belt is installled properly.
