well, in civil engineering, soil engineers use it to refer to the testing location, as opposed to in the lab....i always thoguht it sounded snobby...though I am in traffic...and doing work 'in situ' can be rather dangerous.

Don't know yet what the charge was, but when I find out, I'll post. Evidently it wasn't that easy to diagnose. Bad reference material, as Chiovnidca suggests, could have slowed them down.

OK, here's the update on the wiper problem. The dealer replaced the motor, and parts and labor ran about 300 bucks.

All's well with the son's gf who is driving somewhere in the rain.

Guy,s I've got a customers 03 accord here with the exact symptoms described by the OP. When I checked the motor I left motor installed and applied power to each lead int,lo,hi and they all worked. I'm ready to order the switch instead of the motor but so many of you said honda replaced the motor. I had a previous customer with an 03 accord that had his headlights quit on him. Honda Dealershiphad him order the entire fuse box, and then he brought it to me to install. It was actually the switch that was bad, much cheaper to fix.
So my question is does anyone know exactly where the relays are for the wipers. I want to go just before them in the circuit and add power and see if the wipers work. Thanks, mike
