Default Desert, PA and all others that helped me out...I finally got it!

Guys,

I don't know if you remember my issue but I had been through just about everything trying to figure out why my fiances car would not fire but only crank while the engine was cold after sitting over night...

The weather got colder and it got to the point where if the car sat outside for more than a few hours it would have real difficulty starting.

It broke down at her work, there happens to be a "mom and pop" mechanic shop right next door to her work.

They got around to looking online and...

Took the whole entire ECM out of the car, put it inside by a heater, re-installed into the car and BAM fired right up.

Took the ECM out and put it in the fridge for awhile...no start.

Took another ECM out of a junk yard car...fired right up.

ECM has been in now for 3 days, car parked outside all the time and has started every time.

Just wanted to let you guys know cause I hadn't heard of this issue before personally.

Donnie

Thanks for the update and glad you got it fixed.

The PCMs are typically the last item that you would think is the problem. You may want to post this solution at the end of that massive thread, someone else can learn of the fix to your problem.

The computer will not tell on itself, so that makes it difficult. The transmission computer in my 92 was the opposite, it would malfunction when it got hot, and worked fine when cool.

PA,

It was the last thing that I would have thought of...I just figured as EXV6 just pointed out that the CEL would at least come on once if the whole dang computer was broken..lol

I will also post this is the thread that I started later this evening. (I would have already but some forums that I frequent have "45 day" rules and such for old threads)

Take care and thank you again for all of your help

Donnie
