Can anyone help me disable my headlights on chime? I always keep my headlights turned on, and listening to that little chime is driving me insane.

On that year do they chime when the car is off and all the doors are closed?

 

No, only when the doors are open.

 

one easy way is to find the door switch and wire it so the door always thinks its closed... just be sure you close your door tight every time....

 

I would think that would prevent the interior lights from coming on when the door was open.

I was hoping to just find the chime and disconnect it somehow.

 

It would... I have no idea where the chime on that car is... perhaps open the door and start dash diving and listen....

 

Wait a minute....mine only chime when the car is OFF, the headlights are ON, and a door is open. That is to prevent youfrom leaving your lights on when you parkwhich willdrain yourbattery.
Do you mean to tell me you leave your lightsON when the car is OFF?
Does the chime sound when the car is ON and the door opens? That should not be the case...

 

Yes, I leave my lights on ALL the time. On the '98 EX, after 15 seconds, the lights turn off automatically once you close the car door (and of course the engine is turned OFF). I do this so I don't have to turn them on every time I get into the car (I leave them on for safety, since there is no DRL in the US model)
