S light staying on could mean the transmission computer detected a problem and stored a code.

Read the DIY writeup on How to get CEL codes.

The reason I ask is, I am wondering if I have the right trans computer? The previous owner replaced the trans computer and wonder if it is the right one. The car has sport shift but does the computer support it?

I think the EX has a different TCU than the LX/DX accords.

Here is the OEM TCU part number for the LX/DX: 28100-PX0-823

You can find the OEM number on your TCU and look it up on a site like hondapartsnow.com. It will show Honda Models, and you click on each link to see the specific model that part was designed for.
