Default RE: door checker

So the is the problem with #12 in the picture above, or with # 5/6? It sounds like number 5/6 to me that is part of the door frame and not part of the door.

The parts blowup shows that there are bolts that hold 5/6 in place.

You can access pdfs of a shop manual for a 94 accord in the thread called Acc 5th gen... in the DIY section. Page 20-16 in the body pdf shows how to adjust those bolts. I am not sure how to access them. They might be from the inside where you will have to pull the carpet back or pop off a platic piece by the fuse box. You might have to take off the wheel well splash shield to access those bolts, but trying from the inside might be easier. At least they do not seem to be welded on there, because you wouldn't be able to adjust the door.

Thank you for your input, maybe i mis-spoke with the term pillar hinge bracket? The problem is not 12 or 5-6 (5-6 are the hinges to hold on the door) The issue is where part 12 attaches to the frame (pillar) with pin #16 which from what i can see is not in the blow up. Looking at your car door you will see it attached to the frame between the door hinges . I hope this clarifies this for you. my question is if you pull pin 16 out of the door checker what part (name) did you just pull pin 16 out of? That is the part that is loose/

i will try and attach a pic later today?

I can't tell from the parts drawings. Those are really intended as a parts catalog, not a full repair manual. That bracket might be part of a body/sheetmetal component?

Check hondaautomotiveparts.com, choose parts catalog,& put in you car's information. I tried to look at front bulkhead drawing, door drawing, inner panel drawing, but couldn't find anything that looked right.

Just an update, i borrowed a see snake device from work ( camera on the end of a flexible line (very handy). Gained access to the pillar from behind inside fuse panel ( which had to be unscrewed and pulled out of the way) i could get a good look with camera, the anchor side of the door checker is spot welded in three places. Not an easy fix for me. The whole dash would have to be gutted and a lot of wiring moved to re weld. Might be able to remove door and sink a few self tappers in from the outside, still a lot of work. I am just gonna have to live with it broke for now.
