Default Door won't open on 2006 coupe to repair the broken cable. Help!!

We got the door panel off successfully but we are unable to find a way to open the door so we can replace the cable. Anyone have any ideas how to go about this? We found the actuator (at least I think that's it) but there is no lever or anything around that area that moves.

Which cable is broken, the inner handle cable? Driver's side or passenger side?

Yes, the one that clips into the inside handle. It's the passenger door. We tried pulling on the cable several times to attempt to engage it and nothing happens.

I'm not super familar with the inner workings of honda doors, however all basically work on the same principle. You should be able to (assuming you have the panel off) reach in there and manually actuate the mechanism that works the door with your hands. I've done that procedure on countless cars over the years, all makes and models.

So it doesn't work after you installed the new inner handle cable?

Also, does the door open with the outer handle?

Is the door door lock in the unlock position?

We found the box, but with little space to work with and see, even the use of a camera and flashlight isn't helping to locate anything that moves and activates the door. We can barely fit hands back there either, as some have suggested removing the actuator with a drill. I was hoping someone knew of a lever within arms reach. :/

It's in the unlocked position. It won't open from the inside or the outside, or by pulling the cable manually. The door panel is off but we can't install the new cable with the door stuck shut.

Sounds like a problem with the latch assembly if the door won't open with the outer handle in the unlocked position.

Any suggestions how to get the door open if that's what's wrong?

You'll probably have to try to reach in to the latch to manually move the latch levers.

The first picture is the parts diagram for your car, showing the latch separate from the actuator.

The second picture is of a sedan (4-door) rear-door latch. Slightly different than the coupe; but, so you can see the levers.
