Default door won't open on '99EX

So the drivers door won't open on my '99 EX. How am I going to get the door panel off without opening the door? I'm assuming something broke in the linkage inside the door. I mean, what else could it be?

I will need to look at my daughter's car (1998), but I think you can still remove the panel.

It will not be easy with the lack of room. Go to Youtube and look up "how to remove 1998 Honda accord door panel". When looking at that video, I think you will have to break the plastic retainer clip near the mirror by "chiseling" it. Then you need to find a way to pop the edges of the door panel away about 1/2 inch. Once you remove the 3-4 screws, then pull up on the door panel.

When my daughter stops by, I will look at it.

You face a challenging task to remove the door panel and release the stuck door lock. See following video. A key step is purchasing the replacement lock to allow insight into where you need to push to release the latch.

good luck

There are a few different ways of doing this. A google search of the issue will bring up several video's with different methods.

In the end you are going to need a new latch.

Way slow at typing, TX responded....was actually watching one of the videos about this
