Default Dorman hub/bearing combo replacement?

Just curious here my driver side wheel bearing is shot so looking to replace. 96 accord lx 2.2. There 100 a piece at autozone, for the whole assembly bearing and hub, curious to you experienced Honda guys on whether the dorman assembly on rockauto is a good replacement. Plan is to just replace both sides at same time because I have replaced everything else on the front, from steering to suspension. But rockauto is cheaper, but I know cheaper isn't always better. Just looking for some real feedback , thanks....

Given the effort req'd to replace the front wheel bearings, a better quality than Dorman is suggested. My suggestion is based on testimonials of Eric O of South Main Auto (youtube channel). He has had many problems w/ Dorman (mostly China-made products).

YouTube has some good videos on this bearing replacement. Check bushougoma, South Main Auto, etc.

good luck

I agree 100%. Having done hub bearings on a 99 Accord in the last couple of months I'd recommend a better bearing, something like either a Timken, NTN (stock bearing), or even a *** bearing, as those are quality bearing companies. Take a look on you tube for an Eric the car guy video, as he shows what's needed to replace them on 97 and earlier cars, as it's more work than the 99 I was working on.
When I did mine, I bought Timken bearings from Rock Auto (they were 26 bucks each), and were actually NTN bearings in a Timken box. What I took out were NTN bearings (made in Japan, but so is the car) so I felt comfortable using them. I also replaced the lower ball joint while I had the spindle off, and later dropped the strut out and swapped the upper control arms, as it was cheaper to get complete upper control arms than it was to just buy the upper ball joint. For those I got them thru Detroit Axle, as they had a 10 warranty on them. I also replaced the outer tie rods while I was in there, as I knew all of those parts had 233K miles on them. I also replaced the rotors and put in a new set of pads then too. I think I had about 250 bucks in parts, plus 8 hours of labor (working by myself) doing the front end rebuild. Needless to say I shopped around between Rock Auto and e-bay for my parts. If I had gone thru the Zone or Advanced, I'm sure I would have paid a bunch more than I did. I should also mention I bought 1 of those bearing press kits (like the guy from South Main used, but a cheaper version) off e-bay, and it worked out great for pressing bearings out/in. I don't think it works like that for the 97 and earlier cars, but then I've got a 2000 Accord here along with a 92 Geo Prizm (Toyota Corolla clone), and a Civic that use that style of bearing, so I can do them in the future as well (helped sell me on buying the kit).
