Default driver seat is reclined way too much!

91 accord with 'dial ****' for seat adjustment. the problem is; i cant turn it any more to raise the seat to a more upright position. i dont know if it is turned all the way, or just stuck, but i dont want to break the ****. any ideas?

**** or lever? I thought the ****-twist-was for the lumbar support.

I thought the lever was for the recline.....

what Poorman212 said. the **** should be for lumbar support and the lever should be for adjusting how far it's reclined. i have a 92 and it should be the same for your 91 i would think.

you are both correct about the ****. the problem remains however; the lever only 'sticks' in the recline position. i guess i will take the seat out and see what is going on.

perhaps the lever and seat back need a tiny jiggle to get it to latch sitting more upright. it has notches for certain seat back positions. maybe it needs some cleaning (though i am not sure how one would go about cleaning it, never had to do it with mine) good luck figuring it out and let us know when you have gotten it to work

You should be able to pull and hold the lever up while not sitting on the seat, and the seat back will move forward into the steering wheel. Now let go of the lever and push the seat back into the first upright position/locked. Lift and hold the lever to adjust the seatback to your desired setting and let go of the lever. If this isn't working for you, then there is likely a piece of linkage or spring in the mechanism that isn't right.

that is the problem; the seat only reclines to one position (about 135degrees). i guess i will remove the seat and take a look at the mechanism.
