Well the headlights and marker light (a few others as well) share the same ground, however it is a "juction" of wires if you will. The ground is a few wires into a "ceramic" type junction that is bolted to the car.....wish I could find the pic of it for you....see if this helps.

Alright well I replaced the dimmer switch, and so far everything is working well. I was going to do an ohms check on the dimmer and the headlight switch and make sure everything that should have 12 volts did, but of course everything was working when I wanted to check them. So I just got one from the junk yard and replaced it
By the way I don’t know if any of you have a junk yard called LKQ, but we do and it’s kind of cool. Never been to one before and the set up was cool. Just a lot of looking and walking to find what you need.
Thanks to all for your help. Let’s hope this solves the problem.

I don’t know what happened to the threads, but yes I did replace the dimmer switch. It works for a while then the same thing happened. So I am going to start to look at the ground and connectors when I get a chance. But thankfully I can drive my truck for now. Cause driving at night with no running lights is no fun. on the way home I had at least 10 cars hunk there horn and tell me to turn my lights on, let’s just say by the 10th one I just yell back they are damn it!!!! Ha ha, wish me luck.

So I have checked all of the grounds that I knew of and that I could find. They all seem to be good. I took the dash apart(cause I had a few light behind the gauges I needed to replace too) and I didn’t see any grounds back there besides the 2 behind the cd player in the center.
So I’m at a lost right now. Everything is working as of now.
But I was wandering if the cigarette lighter has anything to do with the light system. I did install another lighter aftermarket. I will check the grounds tomorrow on that but I believe there good.

Get a volt meter. When you have problems with your interior lights, unplug the dimmer switch and check for voltage on the red/blk wire to ground. You should get 12V. I would pry out the dimmer switch and leave it there, so you can easily access the electrical connector.

Once you determine if voltage is missing or present, we can give some better information on the next step.
