Default Engine light at 100mph.

I recently took my 2005 V6 past 100mph and the check engine light came on until I got back down to 75mph. Is this a Honda safety thing or is it a governor or is it a major problem?

That's the first I've heard of something like that happening.... I guess it's possible that it's a saftey feature or warning or something but sounds odd to me.... if it happened right as you passed 100 while accelerating and decelerating then I'd say it's probably a warning light more than anything.... if it occured at two different speeds then it may be an issue...

No it should not happen. I've taken my car to 100+ in 4th before shifting to 5th..........no lights or anything else. It's possible a code was stored in the computer so have it read to see what the problem is.
