After cleaning the EGR ports Engine light is still one. Could it be the EGR valve need to be replace???

 

Maybe, but did you reset the ECU?

The CEL won't automatically go out right away. Takes some number of drive cycles & a bunch of specific operating conditions to occur, without any more EGR problems.

Or you can disconnect the battery to clear it...

 

When I clean the port I had disconnected the ground for 3 hours.. earlier I had the ECU clear for 4 hours... does the valve need to be clean too? because i didn't touch the valve on the EGR port and the plate.

 

Well, it IS possible the valve doesn't work. Or a wiring problem. It just seems more common for the ports to be plugged.

I never owned a '94, so not real sure of the next troubleshooting steps. Look in the DIY section for links to repair manuals. Also, I think there's a thread in DIY about the EGR system.
