Default engine miss at 2000 rpm

I'm new to the world of honda's... I have a 94 accord 4cyl auto. I have what feels like a engine miss at 2000 rpm (give or take 100), but only in overdrive. If I drive in d3, I never feel any problems. I have cleaned out the egr rail ports, I can't find any vacuum leaks, I have installed new plugs and wires......anybody had this problem and fixed it?????

It might be that you are feeling the trans going in and out of lockup, watch for an RPM change of a few hundred RPM when you feel the 'miss'.

tps checks fine. further testing shows it doesn't do it for a couple of minutes first thing in the morning(I'm assuming till the heat gets up) Also unplugging egr valve electrically doesn't appear to affect my engine, good or bad (this is not correct is it?)

wondering if maybe transmission is were I should be looking instead of engine. Only happens in overdrive at steady pace (not accelerating or braking). Acts like I shifted to 5th too early (if it was manual tranny). Any one think a filter/fluid change would stop my symptoms.....?

I have narrowed it down to shift solenoid...just notice price of new one....will it hurt anything to run without them..... seems to shift fine (maybe not convertor lock up...didn't get on open road yet.)

Further investigation ..... the lock up solenoid is the one thats bad..... would it damage tranny to run without it for a couple days till get new one ordered????

Does the check engine light turn on while driving? Does the D4 light start flashing?
