Default Engine oil in combustion chambers...

Is engine oil in combustion chambers the same as water in cylinders?

I think I've made a huge mistake. I took the spark plugs out without removing the excess oil which accumulated inside of the wells. By now oil has undoubtedly drained into the combustion chambers below the spark plugs.

I'm reading that the oil will just ignite in the combustion chambers.

Does it really? Would it cause long term damage if it ignites? Wouldn't the oil flood the engine or cause valves to bend because it isn't compressible?

Help?

It should not cause any problems except smoking. I doubt you had enough to foul a plug, but this is slight possibility.

I use a suction line (from venturi air tool) to suck out the oil before removing the spark plug.

good luck

And then, fix the leak.............since you are not following the suggested "rules" and have your car info in you signature....PLEASE ADD. Not much more we can help with....I know I've seen you post about something...tube seal(s), ect but without knowing more?

pretty sure he has a 4th gen 4 cylinder non-vtec. there is a DIY on fixing the oil in your spark plug tubes.

get a full valve cover gasket set. comes with : Valve cover gasket, Upper spark plug seals, and your valve cover bolt seals.

you will have to buy lower seals separate if that does not fix your problem
