Flashing oil light? What does it mean?
My 1993 4cyl F22A the other day right after start up we backed it out of the driveway, put it in drive and then the oil light started flashing. I immediately turned it off and checked the oil. It had more than the lower dot on the dip stick so I figured all was well. We started it up and there was no flashing from there on. What does the flashing mean??

First off, you need to have more than the bare minimum amount of oil in the car.
A quart of oil costs way less than a replacement engine.
The usualcauses for oil light are, not enough oil to keep pressure, plugged up oil sump screen, faulty OPSU, poor electrical connection at the OPSU, andcrank main bearings are worn from driving the carlow onoil.

The first thing I would check then is the oil pressure unit (or oil pressure switch...) it's located on the rear of the engine directly above the oil filter and has a little plastic boot around it... make sure that it's not leaking oil, it's connected and the connections are clean.

I changed it in my quest to stop all the oil leaks. There was what appeared to be oil coming out from above the oil filter and someone said it might be that switch.
