Forever Slipping Tranny. TCU?
I have a 97 honda accord lx automatic. My transmission has been slipping through ALL gears for about 3 years. The upshift seems delayed; it will rev higher than it should, givea slight kick and shift into the correctgear. Downshiftingseems to befine (when manually selected).Hasnt gotten better or worse, even after a flush after all this time. (No metal shavings or burned fluid was noticed)
Is it possible my issue is with a vacuum failure or TCU problem? It suprises me that it hasnt given out after all of this time, or gotten worse.
Am I able to test tranny codes with a 97 even if I have no warning lights? Could this be simply a TCU issue?

RE: Forever Slipping Tranny. TCU?
it could be a tcu issue which doesn't always throw a code.... for future referance only do drain and fills on honda trannies, don't do a force flush.... if you are fortunate enough to have a friend with a similar vehicle you could try his tcu.... I don't know what the test procedures for that are I'm not very good with automatic trannies..... interestingly enough look at this post.... he's got pics of a burnt out tcu(tcm)....

Not the most helpfull just the person with the most time to kill *L* Let us know what the resolution is when you get it fixed, this seems to be a fairly common issue and so I'm sure it's going to come up again....
