Default Front End "squishy"

I have a 2000 Honda Accord, I am the third owner, knew the other two owners (brothers) well. It's the 6 cylinder model. 245K miles.

Anyway. For a year, my mom and step-dad used the car while I was off playing soldier. I got home in August and noticed that the front end felt soft or squishy or like the tire was flat when taking right hand turns, or merging to the left or any motion that put weight on the left side of the car, especially the front. It felt slick, almost alarmingly so. I check the air pressure and found the tire was at 27psi. I immediately brought it (and all my tires) up the recommended 35psi. But even though I did so, and check the pressure weekly, the sensation persists.

Is this a suspension issue? The tread on the tires is still good. They're about a year old. I don't think the suspension has been replaced since long before I owned the vehicle, about 45K miles ago.

Suspension components aren't maintenance items. You replace them when they are broken or you want to upgrade. You should do some testing before blindly replacing the suspension. What tires are on the car, btw?

You can try to check for loose components. Put the front of the car on jackstands. Turn the steering wheel until it locks. Try to push/pull on the tire at 3/9 o'clock then at 12/6 o'clock.

The only movement should be from the play in the locked steering wheel. If you have an assistant hold the steering wheel, there should be no play.

with that many miles, i can almost guarantee the struts are wiped out, have them checked and replaced if needed. while they are doing that job have them check the rest of the front suspension, tie rods, ball joints etc...

Just another data point...

When the tires on our 2001 EX-L V6 are set to 30 psi the car wallows like a pig on even the mildest of curves; I set the tires to 36 psi and while it doesn't handle like our Mazda3 or our GTI, it is at least stable and predictable on curves and freeway ramps and such.
