Default front window defrost

My front window only defrosts with the ac on. Any suggestions would be greatly apprieciated. Thank you

That's normal. If you want to defrost the windshield quickly, the A/C on is the way to go, especially in high humidity. It will defrost without the A/C, but it will take longer, and you will have to turn the heat up.

Defrost only works decently (w/o AC) w/ air on Outside Air (deselect recirculation). As pointed out it's not as good as AC dehumidified air.

"Tim" - what year is your car?

Are you adding coolant over time because it is getting low? Is the AC drain clean? If a year with a cabin air filter, when was the last time it was changed.

Yes, with the AC on the water is pulled from the air but at the same time "something" might be adding so much that you HAVE TO use the ac.........
