i'd suspect the fuel main relay. it doesn't matter where the car is because people still use the heat. it is very old as well. a failing fuel main relay affects fuel and spark.

89 lx ,,is carburated ,it does not have a main relay .it has a fuel pump relay ..which i have seen fail by itself, but in rare occasions . nothing like starting with the 90 accords ..
breezy.. you need to diagnose if there is power at fuel pump ,,first chk to make sure that fuse # 1 , 15 amps dash fuse box is ok,, and not loose connection,, if it is ok,, chk to see if you get power at fuel pump yellow wire while cranking the engine,, and ground at the black wire at fuel pump ..
if you get both and no fuel at carburator , you got a bad fuel pump or totally plugged fuel filter( not likely ) ,,

if no power at fuel pump,, chk the fuel pump relay, it is located under dash in the fuse box

if it is a fuel pump Install a factory Honda fuel pump, they cost a bit more but are a lot more dependable ..

keep us posted
