Default Fuel Pressure Problem

I have a 95 honda accord 2.2 L engine. I returned home from a three week vacation this afternoon and when I tried to start my car, it would not start. It would turn over but not start. I did some research and concluded that it is most likely a fuel problem. Upon inspection of the fuel rail and injectors, I found fresh gasoline near the fuel pressure regulator. I removed it, checked for cracks/leaks and cleaned the surfaces and when I put it back on and tried to start the car, gas sprays from the surface when the regulator fastens to the rail and it was not doing this before. Was there an o-ring that I missed and can it be replaced or do I need to replace the entire regulator. Thanks.

Yeah, there's an O-ring there.

Fuel spraying strongly suggests your problem is not fuel pressure, but could be intermittent operation of fuel pump (Main Fuel Relay fault), or ignition problem.

When no-start occurs, you need to check for spark w/ timing light (flashes indicate spark) or grounding a plug externally on one spark lead.

Also if you hear fuel pump come on for 2-3 secs and go off each time keyswitch is turned to On, then Main Fuel Relay is likely good and spark problem is problem.

Also possible that ignition switch assy is faulty. This would be indicated by no Alt, Check Engine, or Oil Pressure light when keyswitch is turned to On.

good luck
