Default GAS MILEAGE

i just wanted to know what you drivers with the V6 average with your gas mileage. i drive pretty conservatively(only really push the pedal hard when passing on the highway, car rarely goes over 3200 RPM and then shifts) and am getting low averages. I had a 180 mile all highway drive last week and only averged 21 mpg, and in city driving it only gets around 11-14 mpg. these are much lower than the epa 21-30 and real world 18-27 ratings. (i posted a forum for the same topic but it went way off topic). if you guys could please help me in figuring out whats wrong. the dealer told me its how we drive, and i said my moms 53 years old and doesnt even know what flooring it means, after that i told him i only got 97 miles to half a tank of gas and he still said its how you drive.

btw we just bought the car two weeks ago and its a 2004 V6 sedan with 27K (fully certified bumper to bumper warranty)

VERY good point! There have been many here that tried to use the fuel gauge in figuring mileage......that doesn't work.
