getting ready for 5speed swap need help

I thought something was mentioned about cutting/welding at the transmission mount? If you figured out a better way, that's good.

The earliest swaps were done by cutting off the auto trans mount and welding on a 5 speed mount. A very overly complicated way of doing it.

It was discovered a long time ago that drilling a new bolt hole where the pinch weld is works much better, that is what I did.

I do not have a picture of it. It is detailed on the 5 speed swap that is in the DYI section of this forum.

I hope the brake fluid level was addressed. I know there was still work being done on the car at the time of the pic as a few other things are out of place.

Yeah that sounds easier just drilling a new hole. I'm kinda excited to start it. Good idea painting it before I put it in yours turned out really good.
