I am new to the Honda world and after changing the oil, i was looking for grease fittings to lube. My first question is there any particular grease to use and how many fittings are there that need to be lubed on a 2001 EX?

Any help is appreciated.

 

Very few, if any. That seems to be the case with just about every modern car.

You probably only need to worry about it if the rubber boots get torn. For example if you use a 'pickle-fork' type of balljoint separator. Then you can buy a new rubber boot & pack grease into the joint.

I don't think you will find any grease fittings on your Accord. My 95 Accord which is getting close to 200,000 so far has no suspension parts failed and no grease fitting. When I worked at a Honda dealer they put some lube on the door hinges and somethhing on the Battery terminals as part of the maintenance. Dealerships make up a menu of services and find things to service. The Volkswagen guys used to add grease to the CV joints and replace the one clamp they had to remove. I don’t have a point other than mechanics found something else to lube when the companies stopped using zerk fitting
