Green Box Around "D" Blinking - Trans Trouble
After changing my oil the other day when I went to drive my 2000 Accord (111k miles) the green box around the "D" in my instrument panel was blinking. The car seemed to be struggling to get fully into gear in "D."
I let the car idle for a bit and then once it was warmed up all seemed well.
It now seems to need warming up every day or the same thing will occur.
Any thoughts? Thanks

Only use Honda ATF. Drain and refill. It takes about 3 quarts. Do not have the transmission flushed.
Here is a good video on how to do it:
EDIT: When I said flushed, I mean hooking a machine to the transmission and forcing the old fluid out. The "flush" referred to in the video is the drain, refill, drive. Then repeat for a total of 3 drain/refills.

Well, I spoke to soon. I have changed the trans fluid twice now using the ATF-DW1. I seem to get about 6 weeks of normal shifting and the original problem comes back. The original problem was this:
"the green box around the "D4" in my instrument panel was blinking. The car seems to be struggling to get fully into gear in "D4."
If I let the car idle for a bit and get warmed up all seems well.
It now seems to need warming up every day or the same thing will occur."
Any thoughts?

The blinking D4 light means a trans code is stored.
Is Check Engine Light on also? If yes, you can extract the codes w/ Obd2 scanner.
If not, you may need to use the obd1 procedure documented in DIY forum to extract stored trans codes. Codes would be blinked by the D4 light.
good luck
