Default Ground For Fuel Sending Unit

Okay.. I know I already have a thread open on my problem but I just had a quick question. Would a bad ground for the fuel sending unit cause a car to not start? Does this ground affect the fuel pump? Thanks in advance.

I don't have a wiring diagram nor familiar with the sending unit on a 94 Accord but I highly doubt it. If the fuel pump and sending unit were sharing a common ground then the answer would be yes to affecting the fuel pum.

This is really the only thing I could find but not sure if it has anything to do with the fuel pump.

Both the fuel gauge sending unit and the fuel pump share the same ground at location G751.

So if this ground was loose and really dirty it would cause the car to not start correct?

The location of ground G751 is usually protected from the elements; but, you can take a look.

Ya that's the one I cleaned. It was rusted and it wasn't making very good contact at all. Cleaned it up and the car has been starting fine. Just hoping that this was my problem.

Well if they share a common gound, then it would seem your problem is solved with the fuel pump.
