Question Hand Brake Stuck On

2013 Accord Sport. Hand Brake sticks ON at LR Wheel. Can be freed by prying with jack handle on parking brake lever on back of LR caliper. Could be caliper frozen or cable frozen . Caliper obvious to replace, how do you replace cable?

I'm going to move this to General Tech, where more people will look at it.

A third possibility is the pads are sticking in the caliper bracket, which is easiest of the 3 and maybe more common.

Another possibility is internally collapsed hoses. I've ran into that on other makes.

Decades ago I solved a frozen / rusty parking brake cable on a Triumph sports car by squirting WD-40 into the end of it. Didn't squirt WD40 towards brake unit itself. Perhaps your cable has an access end spot where the cable runs into the sheath. Squirt liberally. Luck.

WD40 can free it up, but it dries up & doesn't last long. Better to work some grease into the end of the cable. The forward end of the cable will be somewhere in the console, towards the back, but I'm not familiar with dismantling the 2013 console.

Better yet is to replace the cable. Normally, the trick is finding all the hidden mounting brackets along the length of the cable, and if the designer was a real @#&^%$ then the fuel tank will block access to the one last bracket.
