Default Headlight Assembly Replacement

Got a bad crack in the lens of my driver's side headlight. Shopped around and found I could buy a complete headlight assembly (including bulbs) for under $42 from rockauto.com, so I bought it. (salvage yard wanted $35 for just a lens)

The book I have doesn't cover replacing the entire assembly. Looking at the car I'm starting to get afraid I have to remove the bumper to get at it. I am looking for instructions, or any help I can find.

Thank you in advance for your help

I have a 90 Acccord Shop manual and it indicates lens can be removed w/o bumper cover removal.

Check the Online Manuals posts in DIY forum for a 90-93 Accord download manual.

good luck

Let us know what you find.....the manual I have says it has to come off....looks like there are two screws/bolts on the bottom side of the headlight lens.....but I think my manual is for the UK Accords?

Someone might have a "trick" for getting to those without the cover coming off....might do some searching for 4th gen headlight replacement.....?

At the end of the day....removing the bumper cover isn't all that bad. Yes, there are a few screws and push pins and time but not that bad.

I know there is some difference between that gen and my 96 but but i recently replaced my headlight assemblies and i had to remove both the cover and the bumper support to get to mine and still isnt bad at all.

I performed the entire switch by myself with no help and was easy.

First off, thanks to those that posted info. Greatly appreciate it.

I did have to remove the bumper. I got ahold of a Haynes manual that covered it. I was more nervous about it than it was worth. Thought it would be a lot tougher than it was. Basically two bolts and a nut on each side takes the bumper and bumper cover off together.

Thanks again for your help
