Since I am replacing my low beam bulb on the passenger side of my 95 accord, I actually have to remove the
air cleaner duct and air cleaner to have enough clearance to get more leverage on the outer ring. I really can't
get a flat screwdriver in there otherwise. I'm not sure I'm up to taking the air cleaner out, especially since the
screws are rusted and stuck on to the nuts and I probably need new nuts and bolts.
I may just bite the bullet and beg for mercy at my local RS Strauss Auto

it kinda broke them loose and i did the same thing putting them back on just in the other direction... its alot easier that way esp on the high beams where they are a lil hard to reach... and yes i had to take out my battery.

I'm not sure how it works on the accords but I know on my civic there were only a few bolts holding the aircleaner onto the body of the car, you can always remove those and bend/push the whole thing out of the way a little bit.... How long has it been since you've changed your air filter?

I had a similiar problem on my 95.
I sprayed small amount of WD-40 on the outside of the ring. I put a rag over the ring and turned. Once it realeased, it turned pretty easily. Just make sure to thoroughly wipe off all the WD-40, because it will drastically shorten the life of the new bulb if you get it on there and you'll be back to square 1.

Duh! Why didn't I think of that before?! (For some reason, I thought WD40 wouldn't work for plastic)
Thanks a lot, PAhonda! I finally replaced the bulb!!!!
I was careful with the bulb to make sure it didn't touch anything except the napkin with which i was holding it.
sir_nasty: um, i don't know when was the last time i changed the air cleaner. I am definitely going to
try replacing it soon. If you haven't guessed by now, I haven't really done much myself with my car.
I will try and keep up with this forum and learn a few things.
Thanks again to all who contributed.

I just assumed that if the bolts etc were as bad as you were talking that it's been a while since it's been changed... Glad you got the bulbs changed at least!
