Hello, I have a 2001 2 door with v6 that was involved in a front end accident and now it won't start-even with starting fluid... When I take a plug out and put it on the valve cover and crank it it does three sparks then the spark goes away while you continue cranking....Any ideas?? Thanks
Inspect wire harness for damage. Buy an adjustable spark tester and set it to 15KV and see if it sparks initially, it should then set it down maybe lower than 5KV and see it it continues to spark more than three times. See if the blk/yel wire to the dizzy still has power when the spark stops. Take the coil and ignitor to AutoZone for free testing. Let us know what you find please.
V6 is coil over, it has not 1 coil or ignitor, it has 6 coils each sittting over the spark plug
chk fuse # 11 , 15 amps in the driver's under dash fuse box
if fuse is ok, chk to see if you get power at black/yellow at coil conectors with key on, if you do not, there is an open in the wiring
chk this and keep us updated

immobilizer? put the key in the ignition, turn the key. how does the green immobilizer indicator act? try and start the car, remove the key, watch the immobolizer green key indicator on the dash. does it blink 5 times then stay off?
since you say you had spark for a few times, i'd start with checking the grounds for the coils(which are also the grounds for the pcm, the fuel main relay and trans range switch).
G101 is on the thermostat housing.

G102 is near the p.s. pump.

having one ground should be enough to ground all the injectors since they connect to each other, but i'd still make sure both are there, secure and have the proper ground bolts installed. knowing body shops they install a regular 6mm bolt and not a ground bolt. i'd also check the battery ground and ground bolt on the body and transmission. you have to make sure the ground at g102 is on the engine and that wire is secure to the body with a good ground bolt.
