HELP HELP HELP! Hi Pressure Lines stuck on Steering rack
I wanted to add,On purpose, I ended up snapping the high side line off from the hose at the rack at the fitting.I was going to replace it anyway and it was seized on there.Very little room to even get a wrench down there. Without getting this hose and line off,it was not going to let the rack come out.
The low side fitting came off easy enough, but the trouble was the high side.
I loosened the 10 mm bolts that hold the high pressure hose/line to the frame and once I had enough movement,I grab the line near the fitting at the rack and moved it back and forth until it snapped off, allowing me to get the rack out of the car.
If you have high mileage, and need to replace the high pressure hose, might as well go ahead and remove it any way possible to make the job easier to get the rack out.
