HELP!!!! im having electrical problems

Exclamation HELP!!!! im having electrical problems

ok so im new to the honda scene, i have a 97 honda accord es and its not starting, im not getting a spark to the distributer from the coil pack and i just replaced the coil pack and spark plugs. i have no idea what it could be, any suggestions?

I think there's a thread in the DIY section about how to tell a problem in the ignitor vs. coil. Check that out.

Also check whether you are getting 12V to the distributor on the Blk/Yel wire w/ keyswitch ON. If no voltage, then keyswitch assy is the problem.

Jim Blake- I couldnt find the thread.

Texas Honda- its not sparking from the coil pack to the distributor, its trying to turn the motor over but no spark

The ignition switch has to maintain THREE different circuits.

Accessories
On when the switch is in "ACC" & "ON" positions

Ignition
On when the switch is in "ON" & "START" positions

Starter
On when the switch is in "START" position

The reason I spell this out is one way for the switch to fail is the ignition doesn't get power while the starter DOES. It's like 3 separate switches rolled into one. So just because the starter cranks, that doesn't prove that the switch is providing power to the ignition circuit. It only proves the switch is providing power to the starter-signal circuit.
