HELP MY CAR HESITATES
This problem started about two weeks ago when I went outside to crank the car and it wouldn't start. So I had the battery charged and when it charged it cranked with no problem. So later on that day I went to crank the car and it gave me hesitation like it didn't want to start and after about three tries it started up. Now it's not catching at all. Could it be the battery?
By the way it's a 99 accord v6 with about 169k.

RE: HELP MY CAR HESITATES
The problem is not really clear by your description. I'd guess you are having slow or no cranking? Check the battery connections, and also the ground. If everything is good, you should have the battery tested. Most parts stores will do it for free in the hopes of selling you a battery. 3 years is about the avg life of a battery.

test your alt using a load tester... how old was your battery? A good quality battery will lasy anywhere from 5-8 years. in all of my accords, the batteries have lasted an average of 7 years

Yeah, if your alternator can't control voltage very well, & fluctuates up & down a lot, that can shorten a battery's life. It's possible for the battery to be bad all by itself, but all my batteries have lasted a lot longer than 3 years.
