Default Help with replacing timing belt

Hello there !

This is my first post here so bear with me. I am wanting to do the timing belt change and water pump replacement. I have an 06 Honda accord with the 3.0 V6. First question is it a difficult job? I am an airplane mechanic and am good with working on things. Now I know it's not an airplane I just know the Honda dealership quoted me 1000.00 dollars to do this job and I can get all the parts for 300.00. I would like to do this job myself to save me some money. So is there a good thread here that will give me a good idea on how to do this? Also looking at getting a subscription to all data for this car would this be a good place for detailed step by step instructions ? All the help I can get would be great. Thank you

Check the Dyi stickies. I think there is info there.

I'm sure alldata has all the information necessary. The two major pains can be removing the crank bolt (I had to use a large 1" drive impact gun to remove mine0, and removing all the little bolts holding the upper covers on (seems like you need a different ratchet, extension, socket combination for each bolt). You will definitely need a Honda/Acura crank pulley holding tool, to install the crank bolt, even if you use an impact wrench to remove it. I know Ericthecarguy.com has a video DIY, but it might cost a few dollars. There are probably other how-to's on the web. I changed my timing belt in the driveway, using the factory service manual.
