honda accord 1989 lx stalling problem

Default honda accord 1989 lx stalling problem

i have a honda accord lx 1989 carb i runs perfectly good when is cold but ones it got hot and i stop for a light it stalls, and is only when i begin to accelerate you have any idea what could it be

Sorry, not sure I understand this right.

A few questions, are all of the tune up items (capr, rotor, plugs, fuel filters, ect) up to date. What testing have you done.

does car have a normal idle ?? 700-750 ?? when warm ? it might not happen when engine is cold cause it is still on fast idle mode ,,,,,,,,,,sounds like an inner carb issue

if it idles rough, remove the idle solenoid back of carb, 1 8mm screw , careful not to drop the o-ring.. get a can of carb cleaner and blow in the carb opening , it would be real good if you had access to compressed air you could blow in there after spraying carb cleaner

Default 1989 honda accord lxi

Hi Everyone,

I have a 1989 honda accord Lx that would stahl when stopping at stop signals,At first i suspected the carburetor.I am not a mechanic but i think i have the trick.In all my vehicles i pour marvels mystery oil the fuel tank.I filled my tank one day without the mystery oil (discovery) and it stahlled.I put the mystery oil in drove with two feet to shake up the fuel in the tank and when it mixed it stop stahlling.>>>>.hope this helps someone.(maybe its the fuel they make today Too refined`)
