My A/C began acting up a couple of weeks ago. It will blow cold air but if you hit the "fresh air" switch. It cuts the compressor out. When it works it is ICE cold problem it it keeps shutting off. When it shuts off, I can turn power on and off and it comes right back on.. but only for a couple of minutes at a time.. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated..

 

Problem description suggests an intermittent AC on/off switch. When you stab the Fresh Air/Recirculate button you may cause the switch to open. I would remove trim and access the switch. you should be able to create a jumper short to simulate the closed switch to "fix" the problem temporarily. If that works, then switch must be repaired or replaced.

You should purchase a shop manual or check autozone.com for info on your model.
