Question Honda Accord 2003 coupe DOOR ISSUE

Whenever I get in my car I have to leave the doors unlocked because my key wont go in the driver's side door. No matter how much wd-40 I put, the key wont turn or open the door. Is this a small fix or do I need to take it to a mechanic??? Also how much would something like this potentially cost? Thank you so much in advance for assistance or advice.

Can you push the key into the lock cylinder?

Sometimes the key will go halfway in but it won't go fully in, and the times that it does I can't turn it.

You have a mechanical issue with the door lock cylinder. Could be a broken pin or a broken spring. You can try a spare key just to make sure there isn't an issue with your current key.

The cost of the repair will depend on a few items. A dealership will probably just install a new lock where you need a different key to open the door. If you are a DIY person, you can pull the lock cylinder and find a locksmith to rebuild/repair the lock cylinder.

I'd call a dealership and a locksmith to get a quote for the repair. Ask the dealership if they would just rebuild the lock. You can ask the locksmith the cost if they pull the lock cylinder vs you removing the lock cylinder. I'd lean towards a locksmith for this repair, so you can use your current key(s) on all locks for the car.
