Hood latch busted

Default Hood latch busted

1989 honda accord hood latch is busted. how can i manually pop the latch?

edit: latch is busted from the inside (cable snapped)...actual latch is undamaged

I would try to access the end of the cable under the dash, connect w/ good vise grips, and pull to open. Cable may have separated from the hood release latch.

It may be possible to work from underneath the car, remove the bumper, and reach the latch. You might simply forcibly remove the grill to access the latch. It would help to find another car of your model to inspect for possible access methods.

if removing the bumper isn't an option for some reason you can remove the clips holding the left front fender liner in place and lower it down. then you can see the hood release cable heading to the inside of the car. work your magic(clip the cable and try and pull the wire)
