The hood on my 2000 Accord LX will not shut all the way. The cable work(ed) fine but the locking mechanism now won't lock in place. How do I repair or replace.

 

Is the hood damaged or the u-shaped striker on the hood bent? If not, try adjusting the latch first and greasing it before replacement.

I've attached the instructions for hood latch replacement. During replacement, latch needs to be centered.
