Default Hood Release Cable

Tried to open the hood and the cable will not release the latch. Tried pulling on it with pliers but that did not work. How do I get the hood open without buggering up the grill? 94 Accord EX.

might try removing the front splash guard and then reaching up to see if you can unbolt the latch....other than that I am not sure

I would go with YeuEmMaiMai. When I was at Best Buy the guy recommended I get a sensor for when my hood is opend that the alarm goes off. He said its easy to open the Hondas hood because the cable is right above the fender. Good luck!

what i have used is a screwdriver and was able to reach the hood latch and pry back on hook

another way that i have done it , is to raise the car up on the lift and use a long screwdriver form underneath

none of the cars were 94 accords ,, 2 were 86-89 accords the other was a 87 civic ..

Got it! Three bolts hold the latch assembly. Two are accesable but the other is behind a plastic panel at the back of the grill. You can see the bolt but cannot get a socket on it. Drilled a hole in the plastic that was in the way and the whole shebang came up with the hood. Cable is broken at the latch. Waiting on cable so I can get it fixed. Meanwhile I have the hood strapped down.

Thanks for the help!
