Default horn help please.

I was helping a buddy figure out his horn issue on a 98 accord ex. Pretty much as it was, the horn worked when the wheel was turned, but would not work if the wheel was at the 12 o'clock position. So I figured it was the clockspring, adn I replaced it. The night I replaced the clockspring, the horn worked. But then the day after it stopped working at the 12 o'clock, and then eventualy stopped intermittently in any position.

does anyone have any other ideas?? help appreciated.

Matt

The steering column wiring has a spindle type deal with all the wires in it and that might have a connection issue.

It's right behind the steering wheel, it's what keeps the wires connected to the wheel and prevents them from getting screwed up when you turn

sounds like you're talking about the clockspring (its also called the SIR coil)to me. Thats what I replaced.

I think the airbag has a contact pad in front for the horn and is not making connection????

think I found the problem.

the wire going up to the horn connector underneath the airbag pad is really loose.

Is it safe to take the pad off of the airbag? Is there a special process?
