Default How do I deactivate the theft alarm?

Well maintained 98 Accord EX. The alarm goes off unexpectedly (short?) usually after sitting overnight. Most times the trunk is open or about to be. How hard is this to check, fix, disable?

I would disconnect the battery and clean all ends of both battery cables with a wire brush. I would also clean the bolts and washers holding them down. See if that helps.

Also a weak battery can cause problems for the alarm system. Have the battery/alternator/starter tested at a parts store.
