Thumbs down How do I install a stereo on a 94 Accord EX ?

I bought this HONK828 kit:

Am I going to have to disassemble the entire dash?

I tried putting in the main part and found it was longer than the one that was inside the car as the picture in the bottom shows, so I can't even place it inside because the gray thing inside the car doesn't let it.

Also the kit says you have to cut off some pieces from some of the parts? It says to do it with a knife, but the plastic is pretty durable .

Where do I start? I haven't bought the stereo yet either, and the only part that came with the car was that bottom piece that looks to have been torn apart from the rest of the kit. Also on the back they both says HONK828 but one is shorter?

You may want to call the company that made it and email them your pictures.

I can't remember if you can remove that metal plate.

IIRC, that bracket does come out. There are more things to dissemble to get to it. From your pictures, you haven't removed the ashtray and other parts yet to get to it.

The service manual can be downloaded in links at the "Common DIY and Info. Thread" sticky at the top of this forum section.
