How to take out a broken exhaust stud.
I know you don't wan to hear this, but removal of the manifold is your best option for a successful repair. Sometimes it is better to admit your limitations and get professional help. I've done lot's of DIY and recently had some bolts twist off on an outboard motor (11 no less!). I tried to drill out one bolt and realized I was in over my head. I had to pull the entire power head and remove miost of the external accessories to allow the motor to be mounted on a drill press at a local machine shop. I haven't got the hopefully repaired power head back yet, and am fearfully awaiting my repair bill.
good luck

Were u using a wrench to take it off or the socet set? my problem was i was usin the socets and u cant really get the socet strait onto the stud and that caused mine to break... i bet u probly did the same thing. >< What i had to do was drill the old stud completly out and go 1 size up in the hole and tap it out... stud looks kinda funny being bigger diameter then the rest but not really noticable unless u point it out... havent had any problems with mine that way its been 4 months no leaks... knocks on wood...
