Exclamation Huge problem

while replacing the battery in my friends 04 coupe he put the battery in backwards and now the car is completely dead all that work is the horn and he said the tail lights. if u know the problem i need to find out asap b4 he messes anything else up.

Could be any number of things really, best idea would be to get it towed and have a shop look at it or look for a mechanic that will make the trip out to give you a free diagnosis for the cost of gas. Have you checked all your fuses? Alternator and fuses would be where I'd start.

i checked the fuses and tried a number of things to get it started but still had no luck. and we got it towed back to his house i think ima see if i cant figure a little more out today in the light.

Check the "main" fuses, theses are the higher amp (~100 or so, #22???) and usually have a clear top, located in the under hood fuse panel.

Agree with my friend Poorman212. Do not connect the new battery while attempting to replace fuse, you do not want to accidentally bridge the connections with a screwdriver.

turns out it was just the battery fuse we went to the local honda dealer and picked 1 up put it in and we were off haha thanks for the help guys especially redbull i never woulda looked for that 3 prong battery fuse if it wasnt for the pics u attached

My first time replacing a battery, I took a picture of the original battery before removing it, so I can be sure I put the new one in the right way... (You'd think it's simple enough... but nothing beats peace of mind.)

Any thing you do that gives you peace of mind, like taking a picture is just fine..Digi cameras are just great , aren't they!.

well the terminals were opposite on the new battery from the old. so he tried puttin it in so it went in easy instead of makin sure it was goin in right.
