Default Humming noise

Hello all, first time here. My wife's 97 Accord LE started making a funny noise a few days ago. It is a humming type noise, it is coming from under the hood passenger side rear. It "comes on" or "hums" for about 10 seconds then stops for about 30 seconds then does it again. We first noticed it when the car was off but she said she heard it while driving yesterday. Any ideas or thoughts?

Oops sorry it is an SE

i have an 04 EX 2dr, and i recently installed an intake, and now it hums, it does it all the time. Is the intake on the same side as the humming? if so then you may want to take a look at it. perhaps it just needs some bolts tightened on the air box

I would try to duplicate the noise and then open the hood. Does it sound like the fan? Those will come on when driving and when the car is off, it depends on the engine temp. Take the car out for a drive few miles or so then park it and listen for the noise. When parked I would leave the car running and wait for the humming then look under the hood. I would also check to make sure there are no obstructions to the fan and check your vacum lines. But the only thing that I know of that comes on when the car is off would be the fan.
