Default hydraulic transmission mount

I have 2002 Honda Accord (automatic) with 188K miles and what to change the transmission mount that is hydraulic to a solid. Is that a good idea or should I go with the hydraulic. Also is that a job for a professional, I can do it myself if its doable with out special tools.

You mean the vacuum-operated mount in your other thread? I just wrote something there.

Generally, people have done this and regretted it because of excessive vibrations. But maybe that's OK with you.

It's sorta tight space back there, but I suppose it can be done. Car on jackstands, stable supported. Jack under the oil pan to hold the weight.

I'd probably drop the head pipe off too, just to gain some extra room to work with. I only say that as space in that area to work is at a premium. When I replaced my hi pressure power steering line, I had that pipe off, and could actually reach items I could only see prior to removing it.
